Eric, I'm the someone who will comment on this World Heritage Site. The Lascaux Neolithic paintings, as you may have noticed in the description of the image, is the greatest find of the 20th Century. If you're bewildered, or more than that, want to satisfy your curiosity, do some extensive research and visit the site, as I did. The group I joined was allowed to take images of Lascaux II because Lascaux was closed because of the great numbers of visitors.

can someone help me interpret description such as this? i find cave art bewildering. of what is this a photo? what image is being photographed? a photo of the original? a sanctioned replica? thanks?
