Description
Michelangelo's Crouching Boy, Rembrandt's The Return of the Prodigal Son, and countless other great works of art are housed with great art collections of the world. Unique is the 18-ton jasper vase drawn by 150 horses to this installation. It has been said that it would take a visitor eleven years to examine every one of the exhibits in the Hermitage. Built to house Catherine the Great's growing collections between 1771-1787, and opened as a public museum by Nicholas I in 1852, it is indeed a world treasure.
