Artist's Description
Tsar Nicholas II, a well intended but weak personality, contributed to Russia's losses in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. Nicholas, Alexandra, their five children, and four servants, including a doctor, were executed in Yekaterinburg by Bolshevik revolutionaries led by Vladimir Lenin in 1918. Thus ended a three-century old dynasty. Exactly eighty years after this event, their remains were moved to St. Peter and Paul Cathedral.
